My Baby was nearly 17, and was going downhill.
I took the decision today to let her go free.
She hadn't eaten/drank for 24 hours, or been to the toilet.
When I put her infront of her favourite milk, her head drooped, so her face was in the milk
She just layed down, lifeless without even closing her eyes.
I took her to the vets, who helped me through it.
Smokey was always a little madam, and even fought right until the end.
She fought the medication, and had to have a second injection into her heart (The first one was into her kidney, as the vet couldnt find any veins).
She had enough medicine to euthanise a large dog!
Always a little fighter
She wasn't in any pain or discomfort, and took one last breath, almost a sigh, and was sleeping.
Run free my baby :smt049
