Skin condition in dogs

My 12 year old cocker spaniel continues to battle with skin condition. Scabs all over his back. Normally an antibiotic will help, although this time the doctor sent off a culture and this bacterial infection is resistant to all antibiotics except for Ciprofloxin. The research that I've done indicates there is an underlying condition that is causing these infections. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

If you think there is an underlying condition to cause this then speak to your vet. I am sure they will listen to your concerns. Out of interest what is the underlying condition? Maybe if you tell us all on here we can help further.
