Daily Thread Tuesaday 13th February

Good morning everyone

Thought I would let you all know I am still in the land of the living just got a bit busy yesterday.

Pleased you told the idiot where to go Griff. As Harvey said he wants it as cheap as then sell for a Hugh profit

Good news for the men and you Gordon that she is well and nothing to worry about. Take care up there in the snowy wastes

Well don on helping your neighbours Besoeker. My eldest has helped one of my neighbours sort out his iPhone and iPad as he couldn't get them to talk to each other. I was no help as my laptop and phone always communicate

Lovely here at the moment so hoping it stays that way for a bit so that my washing will dry. I think we are going to go with the first quote for the ensuite as they seemed to know what they were talking about and also gave us a lot of ideas we had not thought about whereas the others just said yes we can do it! The quote is only just about what we had worked it out to be as well. Tiles arrived yesterday too so already to go on that front.

Hope all are keeping well

Have a good day and stay safe.

Brenda...wasn't your OH you were going to kick was it Lol
Yeah, he did want the car cheap as he mentioned buying it before but as much as it would have killed me i would have had her crushed before selling to him!!
the cat has started weeing on the living room carpet, managed to hide it from my dad so far but it's 3 times this week, had him at the vets the other week and he had no infection, bought a feliway diffuser to try and see if that helps, if dad finds out i fear he may make me take him on a one way trip to the vets....if he was ill that's different but just coz he has had a couple of mishaps...no

Good evening all!
Hope all on four legs and two are bearing up or better.

We've been out and walked and out and walked and........
And socialised as we doggy people. Even in inclement weather.
This little fellow is one that we routinely meet.

Just lost a post - damn! So here goes again!
Sue - seems it will soon be all stations go at yours, hope the work is finished swiftly and with style but more importantly just to your satisfaction.
Griff - Hope the feliway works for your piddlin' puss. Is there any chance it could be a kidney problem - if it is I sympathise most heartily with him - but at least I haven't started widdling on the Wilton. Ref: Irons - Chris seems to think that I live in a rather old fashioned world, how astute, for a visit to my place would swiftly confirm that I am at best Victorian in my lifestyle and attitudes and at worst a bit antediluvian! lol !
Hi Brenda - do hope you had a good day kicking whoever it was! Thanks for asking about the kidneys (they are to my certain knowledge still there but not complying with orders) function at the moment being about 12% of what they should be. I don't mention my ailments too much as I find it depressing and am convinced it makes poor reading for others, generally I prefer a lighter touch if at all possible.
The dreaded dastardly dingoes are all fit and well and keeping the local vermin on their toes (with three of them this means four legged but dear Fagin likes to include two legged in his itinerary) much to my joy but doubtless to the distress of hikers and the locals. Tis little wonder that no one will deliver to the house. Gypsy was 12 at the start of this month - as I said the other month, she had a vet check up just to be on the safe side and the old girl was pronounced fit and well. She is starting to put a little weight on but at her age I ignore it for she has been a wonderful servant and companion and deserves the odd special treat when no one is watching, her favourites being chicken or cheese. Scout (aka Danger Curls) is a real terrier - enough said! The little beast would tackle a rhino if she found one on the moor. The trouble with her is that she looks for all the world like a black woolly pyjama case, especially as she has a full winter coat of beautiful curls - but she has the attitude of a Tasmanian Devil! Tess our golden girl skips about the place occasionally stopping to pose and look like an art deco sculpture, her silky blonde hair flows in the breeze and behaviour wise she is as good as she looks. Sadly, she is a swamp donkey, so she goes out looking golden and flowing and comes back bedraggled, black and sticky - oh well - you can't have everything!
So there you are a catch up on goings on up here! Bye fer now but may pop on later.

Besoeker - didn't miss you out deliberately - think we cross posted. Max's friend seems a good looking amiable sort of chap. I admire good photography (which I certainly think yours is) but am not at all gifted that way myself and have to rely on memory.

Thank Sir Gordon!
Are you a Scottish Mac? I am.
Yes, Max's friend is very good with Max. Not always with other dogs but he and Max have rubbed along for two or more years now. Amiable, to use your word, sums it up.

Photography......
Been an interest and a hobby of mine for years but, being a single dad and in full time employment put it more or less on the back burner for quite a few years.

Two things I did on retirement. Got a dog and a digital camera. They get me out and about. Made me look at things I might not have in my busy life.
Sunset from our back garden.

Great photo B - I have a camera but right now I have problems when I download to my computer, it says 'download complete' but I can't find the bloomin things anywhere so I've pretty much given up. If you know a web site or somewhere I can get help I would be grateful. Everything worked prior to the latest Windows update grrrrrrrr.

Gordon, thanks for the news of your pack. had to laugh at Tess as that is exactly what our Lara does. Newfies are well know for loving water but actualy she is the first who does this, Casey will drink from the river but never goes in.

I'm in the middle of sorting and shredding some old paperwork, have two black bin bags full so far our local council don't want the shredded stuff, they tell us to use it in our compost but all our compost bins are full so it will go in the landfill.

Sue, hope the 'en-suite' upgrade goes according to plan, we had some 'upgrades' done when we moved in here (2014) and I hope and pray that we won't need anything more done for many years

Yes, understood. I had a reasonably good film camera. I was selective about which frames I took. Each had an incremental cost for development. It to me a while to get the digital mindset. My memory card can store over 1,000 images but I rarely scratch the surface of that capacity,

I'm still selective. Not because I have to be but because of the need to organise them. I limit what I take and try to be organised about filing them.

This is what I do and it may be helpful for you. For each month I create a new folder on my hard drive. Currently it is Feb 2018. I download pics from this month to that folder every few days. At the end of the month I copy those to a DVD and clear the camera. I have a sticky label for the DVD with month and year.

Besoeker - Yes is the answer - although born in England all my antecedents are Celts. We are rooted in Skye and Sleat, some having gone to Nova Scotia and one or two to England and the West of Ireland.
Lovely photo of the sunset btw.
Harvey - Glad you enjoyed the update on my lot, only posted it really as Brenda had been asking after them. Being a Newfie, Lara will have much bigger paws than Tess so you will be blessed with bigger muddy paw marks - oh joy! Couldn't you put the shredded paper in an old metal dustbin or similar and throw in a match. Shouldn't make more smoke than the average suburban BBQ (if anyone complains this could be the excuse). To make it more convincing you could dance round it with a burnt sausage on a stick. You know me - always helpful!! lol !
