Rash on my dog's belly - what could it be?

my 1 year old yellow lab mix has a rash on her belly. it looks like a small cluster of red pimples. She doesn't seem at all bothered by it - no scratching, biting or licking the area at all. Not sure what it could be... any thoughts? She has not been laying in any grass recently, and no new foods added to her diet recently (questions asked to me by others I have questioned about the rash).

Probably is an allergy to something, have you changed laundry detergent or something.

Really you should get it checked out by the vet, just to be sure it isn't something else.

Good Luck and poor doglet, give her a gently *hug* from me

Could you possibly post a photo? That will help people who might have had this problem before be able to recognize it and help you.

I don't think it's likely an allergy if it isn't itchy or anything. When my dogs allergies act up, his coat thins really badly and he starts scratching.

I've never seen a dog with skin allergies that they didn't seem bothered by at all.

That looks somewhat similar to the spots Pereg had

The vet snipped a bit of hair and also took a skin scrape and it turned out to be some sort of zoonotic problem which cleared up very quickly with antibiotics and some special cream.

My yellow Labrador occasionally has spots like that and I apply E45 cream and it soon clears up.

My white gsd had similar spots sometimes. I usually managed to clear them up with Sudocreme, E45, aloavera gel, Savlon, or similar, but sometimes they got so bad my only option was to have more steroids or ab's. Sadly, my dog had atopy and always suffered with hot spots, itchy skin, the works.

If they turn into reddish brown rings, like my dog's did once, then it's demodectic mange and you will need medication from the vet for that.

Maybe a bath of his belly with a diluted hibiscrub will kill off any nasties, then apply the cream. I always started off with the hibiscrub treatment with my dog, but you will have to do what you think best of course.

Hope you manage to keep it under control. If he lays on his stomach, I'm guessing he's lying on something that is irritating his delicate skin on the belly there, maybe a rug, maybe some bedding you've washed and used biological powder and a conditioner. I learned that I always had to use a non bio powder for my dog with this type of skin problem.

Well I thought it might be flea bites as it looked like flea dirt (the little black spots?) one way to find out easily is to wipe wet cotton wool over the area and see if it goes red.

Well I would be taking a trip to the vets, no one can really diagnose via photos, and that looks a little nasty.

I am sure it is something simple, but IMHO that is what I would be doing
