Just read all of this. What a nightmare! I am so glad you seem to be OK now but I want to give just one bit of advice. Should you ever 'come over all funny' again, or feel dizzy - do not even THINK about driving YOURSELF to the A&E or 'getting yourself' there. Call a taxi or get someone else to drive you.
A very dear friend of mine (who should know better because she is an IC nurse) did just that when she had suffered visual disturbance and what have you. She suffered a near fatal accident in her car on the way to the hospital. No one knows what happened but they guess she blacked out - no other car involved - hers mounted the pavement and hit a lampost.
8 yrs on she is still suffering as a result of the injuries sustained in that accident. It did turn out that her symptoms were due to the onset of epilepsy (she was in her mid 30s) but her biggest problems are as a result of the accident in the car.
So please - if you are less than 100% functioning - don't even consider driving yourself to a hospital.
