Running with dogs (Cani cross)

Hi

Ive been looking into Cani Cross for a while now, and its still a very southern based sport. There doesnt seem to be any up here in the north west? Is there anybody interested in joining me and setting up a training club? Will be good fun, getting fit with the dogs.

Cheers

I just started running with mine, but not competed. The other half runs with Dan, but doesn't want to race him as he doesn't like lots of people (Dan that is!) but the girls are up for it! Where are you based? I'm terribly unfit but would be more likely to get fit if I had a running partner.

I saw this on Crufts but I have one dog that is just too strong for me to go running with...I would love to run with Louie - he'd pull me over and I aint a big runner.

Do you need a sled dog harness?

No - just a comfortable not no pull harness - or even a collar a lead is fine.

Run with him at heel initially so he's not pully

Ours wear padded shoulder harnesses. Don't compete, just for fun & for when off-lead running isn't safe for them. I've tried to get my OH to enter an event as he runs half marathons anyway but no luck so far. Lancashire is a bit too far away to train for us as we're in Co. Durham.
Hope you get some interest.

Im over in Preston, Lancashire, im unfit other than walking I dont exercise as such. Kisi do some great tailor made harnesses and running belts that dont cost the earth. The rules are no flexi's, no head collars and no choke chains. harnesses are best, but kisi have a specially designed one that fits on the last rib of the dog, that way it doesnt impact on the breathing or rub the dog causing soreness.

You can even have your name, or dogs name on there
