Sorry all - been out in Edinburgh most of the day so only just seen the interest in Roni.

Those interested - either ring the number or email. I would personally telephone, as I don't think Roni will be available for long - she is soooo gorgeous!

As I said originally, I don't know any more about Roni than what was in the email, as it was put on a GSD forum I am a member of and I was asked to crosspost on here.

I just looked up the telephone code and it would seem it is Carmarthenshire in Wales

I shared a house with my sister for a while a few years ago and we had a bitch each (GSD and Spinone) who were a similar age and got on very well. I have heard of two bitches fighting and then never getting on, so personally would always prefer a female and male if I only had two dogs, but two bitches can work.

Hi everybody,
I am the owner of the GSD long haired bitch available for re-homing, I am going to paste the original email I sent out to friends to give more details of her, MUST be a seriously 5* home.
Thanks for all the interest.

The GSD bitch Roni, is twenty -one months old, she is a long coated very pretty bitch. The reason for me rehoming are as follows. I am a breeder of some 30 years standing , I bought her in as a potential brood bitch approximately a year ago, as she carries some of my old lines in her pedigree that I wanted to get back into my breeding program.I have just had her hips x-rayed & scored & very unfortunately her hip score is slightly over the level that I like to breed from.It is still very good for a pet & her movement is perfect, but I set very high standards on what I will use for breeding , therefore sadly I am looking for a 5* home for her. She is a super bitch, having a very affectionate & loving temperament. She is perfect with children, other dogs, horses, farm animals & cats. She travels very well & loves going in the car.Since having her I have done a small amount of obedience training with her which she has taken to very well & she is naturally a very obedient dog & desperately tries to please & would make someone a super pet/companion. I am looking for a five* home for her , if you can help or know of anyone who may, please contact me at hilary4lusitanos@yahoo.co.uk I am in South wales

Hi Hilary, I have e-mailed you already, but sadly have heard nothing back yet? I'm very, very interested in her, and I have explained all in my e-mail, and hopefully I might just be lucky!

The girl sounds absolutely lovely Helena, I know Saint Dave has probably said no, but she would be a stunning addition to your family, from what I can see there are no hang ups and her owner is looking for a 5* home and has been totally honest about the circumstances, which I think is very praiseworthy indeed. Who else but you could offer that high level of care hey?

Just to add, I have always had females really, occasionally the odd male for various reasons (usually strays I have picked up and kept) and they have their own hierarchy which I love, I have had as many as 4 living together. I have often introduced an older female which I have taken as a rehome and after a couple of initial spats (which always happens I think) they always gel well together. I recently fostered a girl that we had had to move quickly before there was a home available to her and although there were handbags flying for the first 24 hours, and I had to go out and lay the law down, after that they began to bond well. In fact I was handing bones out, and gave my 2 the biggest (not wanting to start any trouble) and Cariad took hers and gave it to the new arrival, how sweet is that!!! The next morning she did try to get first in the brekkie queue, but was sent quickly to the back, which amused me no end. I was really sorry to see her go because I could see she would fit in really well, but in my current circumstances I couldn't take a 3rd girlie on it just wouldn't be fair. I always keep my girls entire as well, unless there are medical reasons for me not to. So can't see a problem in anyone with an already resident girlie to take this one on, she is obviously well socialised and has had a good upbringing, what more could anyone want. She looks a lovely girl and I would imagine she is well used to associating with other females anyway.
