why do dogs roll in fox pooh

Hiya all.
Can anyone tell me if there is anything one can do to stop a 8 month old chocolate labrador from rolling in FOX POOH You can guarentee every time we are on the fields Up goes the nose and he's off ! before you blink too late he's rolled in it! This can happen with him every day. WHY!!!!! I have a Black lab as well whose coming up 3 yrs old and has never done it. Any Answers PLEASE!!!

because it makes him smell yummy apparently and you keep washing it off so he has to rescent himself lol

Well according to Star thats the best bit.

The labs will roll in anything, the smellier the better. Why they do it, I wish I knew.

Hahaha!

In that case Maddy would like to recommend rabbit 'chocolates', very palatable apparently! And horse and cat and ESPECIALLY cow!

Best thing you can do is stay away from places which are likely to have poo in! Unfortunately 3 of my 4 are poo lovers, you sort of oddly get used to it!

Could be worse, he could have long hair!
