My Goldfish pond

At the beginning of this year we decided to build a new home for our resident Goldfish (Hamish). who lived a very lonesome life in a hundred litre tank by the window..

He now lives outside with about fifteen other Goldfish friends which include a pretty Goldfish we name Betty Boop because of her red lips...Though during breeding season we came to realise "Betty" was actually Bobby Boop..

Here are some pics from then till now

This pic gives you an idea as to the size

This is the first inhabitant

The pond last week

Hamish and his friends (Hamish is the large white Fantail and Bobby Boop is on his right)

I should have added a pic of what we started with.....As you can see we had added a deck and painted the back wall, but the rest was still a messy blank canvas....It still isn't finished "sigh"

WOW!! Thats one cool pond!

I built one a couple of years ago - a 'raised' one, but the dogs have trashed it, they've dug out all the plants etc

I'm going to rebuild the whole thing again in the spring/summer - just waiting for a certain someone to find me some old railway sleepers!

Looks really great just wait till the plants get established, (they'll grow very quickly in your climate) post another pic or two in a few weeks time and let us see.
