Whelping Box

hi guys

can you tell me the best place to buy a disposable whelping box, or am i better off building one?

We build ours - 3ft high, 6ft x 6ft - with rails about 5 inches off the ground. They work a treat.

we do ours about 4ft by 4ft and 2.5 ft high, as long as mum can get in without squashing the babies!!my lab daisy has v long legs but staffys dont do they so maybe judge the height yourself.when are they due?

I read once that it's a good idea to have a 'shelf' either side so that the babies can go under there and won't get squashed if mum gets a bit complacent.
Guess from the front it would look like a bit like this: |-___-|

azz you are soo clever, that is known a a pig rail i think!!we didn't have one but daisy used to peer over the box, and shift the pups if they were near and then jump in, being the genius that she is!!lol and i swear to god she used to count them if i was holding one and she came in from outside she would go to the box and count them and then come back for the baby that was missing!!aah all this puppy talk is making me broody again, but only for puppies!!lol
