When I first got Charlie it was about a year before I ever sen him sleep, he'd never fall asleep in front of me and when he slept in the kitchen he'd always be awake and waiting before I opened the door.
Maddy was the same, when I got Bear it took me ages to adjust to a 'normal' level of energy in a dog.
