after 38 years

38 years ago my mum walked out and left all three of us kids.

Day before yesterday I had a letter from the Sally Ann saying she was trying to trace me.
When I phoned them, they told me she was wanting now to say sorry and make amends.

I told them no, she was part of a very unhappy childhood and that is exactly where she was staying - in my childhood.

and then yesterday, the most wonderful thing - a lady I have a lot of respect for was looking for someone to adopt her as a mom.
Why not, I thought?
I've never known what a kind mom would feel like.
I'd actually dealt with the fact I had a crap abusive one, but an older wiser head on shoulders would always be welcome.

So now, I have adopted a new mom.
Unlike the first, birth mom, this one is kind and decent. This one cares for kiddies others have damaged.
This one, like me, rescued a dog who needed some help.
This one is also rescuing chickens! ( I would shamefully eat them )

We had a chat on the phone yesterday, and it was like I'd known her all my life. I'm sure it won't be the last chat we have
So, my Dogsey friends, I am proud to present -
my new adopted mom, Steph

That's lovely and I'm really pleased for both of you. My mum died when I was 14 but I could never replace her, she'll live on in my heart forever.

Aww, what a lovely combination.

BTW you do realise that this means you'll have to come up to Scotland for your holidays with your new Mum and family don't you (and that way I get to meet you and Missy too )

You two really do deserve each other - you're both such lovely people

And do you know I understand that too. *hugs*

Some might think it odd me saying I have adopted an online mom when I am 49, but, you know, they never had The Wicked Witch of the East as a real live mum !

This time around it will be fun!

Oh! my God, I've just seen this and there are tears running down my face. Bradley's asking ''which one has been nasty to you'' he made me laugh through the tears. I am going to show Patrick this when he comes in, he thought pat sounded the ideal daughter......so do I.

Funny thing, when I was carrying both boys I really wanted a daughter, well now I have one.

Fiona, I will have to bring Pat, Paul and Missy upto Scotland that's defo.

Pat's already saying....ok how far to Dagenham.......
