Click Start, go into control panel, click on keyboard, then adjust typmatic rate.

Or change the batteries.

If its a wireless keyboard try re-scanning for a signal again. as the one now may not be strong enough thus slowing down.

If it's an MS k/board, there's a button on the send/receive unit, just press it, you'll see a light flicker as it re-scans.

What's the send/receive unit please Nero???? Is that on the actual keyboard??? Is it the black oval shaped bit of plastic I've got behind the monitor??? That's got 3 icons at the top and a button at the bottom, is that the button I press??? Sorry, but I don't know about these things!!!

Yup, it's the one behind the monitor, sounds like the one i've got, you'll see the light flashing to-and-fro, wait till it stops then it's reset itself.
