Sent home from school

Luke has just arrived home from school,all the children have been sent home because it's still snowing and they are worried about how the kids will get home later on.
So why didn't they just stay shut,no phonecall nothing to let us know he was on his way home Grrrrrrr
Going to give the primary a ring now to see if they are staying open.
