Sandy
Sandy is an eighteen-month-old, female Husky crossbreed, who came to The Mayhew on a recent rescue run. She is a very friendly and sociable dog who loves everyone including children, thought she can be a little too bouncy and strong for younger children. She has a lovely nature and is well-behaved, if a little scatty. She hasn't been taught basic commands but is very willing to please and is a quick learner. Her new guardians will be expected to take her to training classes. She is very good with other dogs and enjoys interacting and playing with them. We do not know if she is toilet trained or ok to be left alone. Her new guardians will be taking on a fourteen-year commitment, which must not be taken lightly.
Sandy adores being stroked and cuddled, and snuggling up on the sofa with you, if you stop stroking her she will nuzzle your arm for you to continue. She is an active and playful dog who will need one to two hours of off-lead exercise every day. Although she walks nicely on her lead she is still unsure of herself outdoors, if she gets scared she will sit down on her walk and refuse to move until encouraged to do so. She could live with sensible older children, little ones could too easily be knocked over.
Sandy is looking for an experienced guardian who has owned dogs before, an active family who will be prepared to keep her mentally and physically stimulated and involve her in their daily activities.
If you're interested in offering Sandy a perfect, loving, fully committed, lifetime home please visit The Mayhew Animal Home any Tuesday to Friday between 1pm - 3.30pm.
