Newbie

Hi To All

New to this site but not new to dogs I have had dogs for most of my life and was without them once for 5 years, what a mistake that was Life and a home are not the same without animals especially dogs.

I am mummy to Millie a Westie, Charly a Boxer, Ruby and Rio who are Chihuahuas. Millie and Charly are both 11 this year and are good buddies, Ruby is 2, adorable and naughty and Rio is 3 and we rescued him last year and we love them all to pieces.

Rio is the challenge for us as we have never had a rescue dog before! We were thinking of getting a playmate for Ruby when my daughter told me about Rio and for Rio his past is now history, however, he is very traumatised in lots of ways, but he is now in his forever home and each day for him is a bonus now and for us too. He's our little man and we keep telling him he ain't going nowhere, bless his heart.

He was under weight when we got him and frightened of his own shadow, the weight we managed to sort but the physiological side is going to take a lot of time, but we will get there, as I say every day is a bonus. We took them all on holiday last year and Rio had his first beach adventure, well, my life did that dog open up, he was dashing all over the place like he had pins in his paws, jumping and dancing, rushing and racing around, it gladdened our hearts to see it I can tell you, even though he is very shy and reserved.

Anyway enough for now just wanted to fill you in a little and to say hello

Hi and welcome to you and your 'gang'.
What a lovely story about Rio and so nice that he has now found his forever home If you get a chance post some photos in the 'dog picture section' as I know we all love looking at other peoples dogs.
