Dry lip

my dog has very dry and slightly cracked lips on the right side of his mouth. the rest of his lips are ok. was wondering if i can put anything on them to help. i have no idea why this has happened though when he was younger (1 hes 4 now) he did get in to one of those oven cleaner bags,that are corossive his lip did swell but he healed quickly within the day but i do think is the same side could this be the cause. thanks for any help
