Chicken..bit off :S

I got some chicken out of the freezer the other day, it was dated november but now Iv left it too long to eat, was wondering if it would be okay for the dogs or will it make them ill as it would with humans???

I could cook it for them if that would make a difference. Just seems a shame to chuck it if the dogs can get a couple meals from it!

Once something has been frozen, use-by dates are irrelevant.... they refer only to the fresh product.

So, providing it's this past November (not Nov 2009!) there's no reason you can't eat it. As long as it was frozen when fresh and not already past its use-by date when it went in there, it should be fine.

If you bought it already frozen, still there is no problem. But if it looks a bit weatherbeaten - or if it's got freezer-burn - then the texture will be affected and it may taste a bit stale like 'old freezer' so yes, probably better for the dogs in that case!
