Cassie had a fit but she's ok

Hey folks,

Cassie has had a fit but is ok and settling. She's had her diazepam so I'm sure she'll settle down now.

As we've been dealing with her epilepsy for 3 years now, we're well versed in what to expect and how to react so to be honest we handle it a lot better now than in the early days.

The vet reduced her phenobarb this week from 3 to 2 a day so I guess we got the answer whether we could wean her off it and that answer is no.

Not the answer we wanted but an answer nonetheless. Just thought I'd let you all know.

Glad Cassie is ok - must be quite scary seeing your pet have a fit - something I have never experienced thankfully. Hope she is ok after a good rest.

Thanks Sue. It is extremely scary but you get through it. In the beginning I was a wreck but am more able to deal with it now.

You two are the best doggy parents ever to be so cool about all this. I would be an absolute wreck!

Cassie is as lucky to have you two as you are to have her xx

Thanks Gerri. It is difficult but you go into auto pilot. It's an awful disease though. xx
