Samson GSD passes away 22/11/09

My mums dog Samson passed away yesterday. She was out on their usual walk. She phoned me in a panick saying he had collapsed and not breathing. I told her how to do mouth to nose etc. I got there in 10 mins but he had passed. I ran up the hill so fast, I tried to revive him I really did, all my 1st aid came in I knew what to do but I couldn't bring him back! I feel awful, my body aches from running 1/4 mile up werneth low (big hill) and I dont think I breathed all the way, then did CPR.

He was chasing his ball, yelped and collapsed instantly. He was 7 years old....no age. We are devastated . He had no sign of illness and had been at the vets Friday for his annual MOT.

He was only a pup when dad passed away and was mums reason to get out of the house, she still has Finty but Samson was her soul mate, I hope she copes ok.

Samson is on the left near the door

RIP run free big fella xxxxx

Ow how horrendously sad

Don't beat yourself up about it. You did all you could! Sometimes it is just their time and no amounts of effort can change that!

Condolances to your family

So sorry to hear the sad news, what a beautiful boy he was.

I can understand how you feel, and your poor mum must be devastated, especially as he was her link to the outside after losing your dad.

My thoughts are with you all.

Run free at the bridge dear Samson xxx

How heartbreaking for you and your Mum, so very sad.

The only small consolation is that his passing sounds relatively quick and painless and that he was having fun when he went.

Please do pass on a hug to your Mum - not that I know her, but I know how much Dogsey helped me when Kip went to the Bridge.

I'm so sorry to hear of your mum's loss. Must have been such a shock for her.

I know Werneth Low, (live in Denton) and you did well to run up the hill, presuming it was from the car park at the visitor centre to the cenotaph.
