Pooly puppy

Kizzy is poorly, she had a runny bum this morning and has been sick a few times

I have popped her along to our vet,who examined her and said she thinks she has a tummy bug and she has a raised temp.

She has been given two injections this morning, vet has prescribed ab's and prokalin and given her some sensitive food by royal canin.

She said she should start to pick up in a few hours and if she gets any worse to ring the surgery and take her back.
She wants to see her again on Monday.

Obviously we are a little concerned at the moment.

Hi Sal I can understand your concerns..
Remember young puppies like human babies have yet to build up a resistance to infection. When removed from the Dam a puppy is naturally sresses and this can affect its ability to fight infection. Added to this a simple thing like a change of water can effect the tummy.

I would keep Kizzy nice and warm, a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel will help with this. Lots of sleep is a good thing too.

I hope Kizzy will be better soon.

Thanks all

Quick update,

She still has a runny bum,but is firming up a little She hasn't been sick since this morning but still refusing food.

Her breeder has also just rung, she still has two pups with her and she asked if Kissy was ok, as the two pups she has have been sick and got runny bums.
So it does seem as though it is a bug they have picked up from somewhere.

She said she will call later to see how she's doing.
