I sent this to my husband out in Afghanistan and he sent it to the lads out there to sign, I really hope they can get him out of there. When he was back in Iraq in 2003 his section had a dog that they looked after which looked very like sandbag and he said he was sure the dog was better fed than they were. He was then looked after by the next regiment that went out.

Aww, that's so heartening, Jenny. Poor soul. Well done to the troops and your husband for helping to look after some of these dogs!

This is the reason I support Nowzad Dogs. They do an amazing job.

I think most of the lads love looking after the dogs out there and get very attached to them so make sure they are looked after by the regiment that replaces them, just wish they could get them all out of there

Easy to understand why they become so attached to the dogs, and I bet the feeling is reciprocated as well. At least some of them are looked after. It's so sad. But like you say, it would be great if we could get them all out of there. It's heartbreaking.
