An Update on Milo.........

It's now six weeks since he had his leg amputated to get rid of the primary tumour and he is getting about really well although it's obviously quite tiring for him.

He had his first session of chemo last Wednesday following a course of antibiotics as his white blood cell count wasn't quite as high as the vet wanted (although it might have been a normal reading for Milo).

Far from showing any side effects, Milo has been really well since the chemo - in fact more like his old self - so I let him come for our normal morning walk today. We didn't go as far as usual but he managed to squeeze under a stile, grab a mouthful of fresh cow pat and socialise with a family of pointers he hasn't seen for a couple of months, so he's a very happy boy!

For the first time, I am feeling cautiously optimistic that he will be around for quite a while yet!

Aw fantastic news, what a good lad. So pleased to hear this update .

When Zeke had his chemo he went back to being very puppylike for a while! (which was lovely because we got him as a rescue at 4 years old so we'd never seen him puppylike!).

Long may it continue, and i'm sure it will xxx

Hi Pam I am delighted to hear Milo is recovering so well .

We didn't go as far as usual but he managed to squeeze under a stile, grab a mouthful of fresh cow pat and socialise with a family of pointers he hasn't seen for a couple of months, so he's a very happy boy!
..that certainly sounds very positive .
