Having minor surgery tomorrow

Hey folks. Having minor surgery on my right thumb tomorrow. I've had a growth on it for the last year and as it hasn't disappeared and is painful, I've decided to have it removed.
The consultant thinks it's a piece of bone but as it's attached to the joint, he's not sure. It's not particular large and I feel a bit of a drama queen having it done but I don't believe growths should just appear anywhere on your body without being investigated.
It's just being done under a local anaesthetic in the surgical day unit so will hopefully be home by tea time. I've self certified myself sick next week though as since I work in IT, it's hard to do the job with one hand.
I will, however, be back on here asap as I'm sure I can afford to type slowly with my left hand at home!
