Got my surgery date - and a cold!!!

Just got my letter giving me my date for my gastric by-pass - 26 th October, three weeks away and now I have just started with a sore throat and a cold . I have managed to get some anti-biotics in the hope it will prevent me getting a chest infection, I'm worried that they cancel my operation date.

I am taking Vitamin C to help, plus paracetamol to keep my temp down. I have my pre-op assessment appointment next week, ECG, chest X-Rays and bloods, also an informal chat about my op. I really hope I can shift this before then - keep your fingers crossed for me - I need rid of this rotten cold.

Dose yourself up girl!
They do say 'feed a cold, starve a fever' and as it's probably the last time you can eat willy nilly do it, but make sure it's all good quality stuff.
My son is also reminding me to tell you to have plenty of chicken soup, it's proven to help, Jewish or not!

Best of luck, i'm sure you'll be fine. 3 weeks is a while yet. Always a worry though.
I've got an operation on the 17th October, week on wednesday, theres a few people at work with a cold, hoping i don't catch it too!! What a nightmare.
Best of luck with your operation :smt023

Jesus that sounds like a really serious operation you’re having.

I hope all goes well for you.

Slight change of subject, Skye has really come into her own now and my daughter has given her the nickname of “The terrorist” as she likes winding up the rest of them. I will email you a photo of her.
