Good toys for destructive puppy?

Alfie is 6 months, and has taken to destroying his toys (and only his toys - which is a plus ).
But he doesn't just rip them in half or whatever, he picks at them.

If you give him a rope toy he picks at it untill it all unravells and falls apart and the seperate strands come loose...

Give him a stuffed toy and he makes a small hole and then proceeds to remove all of the stuffing... (this has happened with his last bed too lol).

Give him a soft rubber squeaky toy and he will pick off any "bumpy" bits to make a nice hole...

Give him a fleece toy with a ball attached, and he picks at one tiny bit of the fleece to make it all come loose..

etc etc..

He ignores rubber "solid" plastic/rubber toys...
So what are some more "indestructible" rope/soft toys?

... btw this isn't a big dog we are talking about - he is only JRT size!

The wubba is awesome, I agree with that suggestion.

I would also try a kong filled with nice things, my dogs hate solid rubber things, but they do like kongs when they are filled.

Also flavoured nylabones might be worth trying as they allow the dog to chew and bite little flakes off (so they really feel they're getting somewhere).

All of my dogs will pull the stuffing out of cuddly toys, unravel rope toys and pick bits off anything with bumps, but kongs and nylabones are always a hit.

A 'cheap' toy that won't last long but in my experience dogs love - get some old socks together, stuff several into one sock and tie the end. May only last an hour or so, and possibly in your case 5 minutes but great fun.

Thanks guys!
I shall look into the wubba.
He has the kong rubber teething stick, but isn't bothered by it.
The nylabones he has, and has the odd chew maybe once ever few weeks.

Not only is he destructive - but he is fussy too!!
The socks thing may work though!

He does like his rawhide though, he is chewing a "frisbee" rawhide disk at the moment, but he gets bored of things easily too! Lol

Perhaps you could buy yourself a length of polar fleece from a fabric shop, cut it into strips and tie some thick strips in several knots (you could even braid them if you felt arty lol) and it would cost pence and he will probably thoroughly enjoy destroying it!

many a dog has had to have them removed surgically and not all live

... cardboard doesnt look pretty but hours of fun and very cost effective

Oooh - no socks then!
I don't let him have cardboard as he picks little bits off and chews them and I am always worried he will choke on one!
