GGimme back my dog and I won't set fire to your boat

(Relates back to the "dog missing in Tesco carpark" thread)

What this refers to is a story which appeared in the local bumwiper (Sheriff Court pages).

A young lad (let's call him Magnus) had a motor bike which needed repairing, so he took it to a bike mechanic (we'll call him Geordie) to be fixed.

Geordie fixed the bike, and charged Magnus (say) £100.
Magnus wasn't satisfied with Geordie's work, so Geordie re-did it.
Magnus still wasn't happy, but this time, Magnus told him to **** off.
Magnus was now an even unhappier bunny, so the spirit of his Viking ancestors burst forth. He hitched a lift to where Geordie kept his boat and emptied the contents of a petrol can over it, then he applied a Swan Vesta and reduced the boat to floating ash.

If ever you visit these wonderful isles, remember that, although Orkney folks are usually friendly, kind and helpful, they can still be Vikings under the skin!

Thanks Snorri for enlightening us but surely there's an ending (Not necessarily happy) e.g. Magnus was arrested and tried and spent five years in gaol.

Or did someone go round and burn his house down and they called it quits

Hah! The Sheriff shrugged, and said "Precisely what I would have done myself. He asked for it. Case dismissed. It has been the inalienable right of all Orcadians to set fire to boats since time immemorial. Here's 50p towards the petrol."
