Max - Rottweiler
Max is a handsome male rottie and is currently on foster in Caerphilly, South Wales.
Max is currently undergoing some veterinary treatment for an ear condition. He will not be ready to go to a new home just yet, however, he can be reserved and homecheck etc. organised in advance.
The Max Fact File
Dog status: Very sociable
Cat status: unknown
Child status: Good, could be rehomed with dog savvy children aged 8 years plus
House training: Very good
Home alone: Unknown as his foster carers are with him all the time
Basic training: Max is very obedient he will sit, stay, down, back up, give his paw etc
What an incredibly handsome dog Max is. He is very well socialised with other dogs and is living within a large pack in his foster home. He can be frustrated and bark if other dogs will not play with him. He could be rehomed with other dogs and is friendly and playful with dogs out on walks.
Max came to us in poor condition from the pound. He was underweight with a poor coat and bad skin. On top of this the poor boy also had very sore eyes and a very serious ear infection. This has in no way affected his temperament and he has been incredibly well behaved for the vets despite all the prodding and poking they have had to do. Max is looking better every day and will be ready to go to his new home very soon.
Max will be looking for a new owner who is around for the best part of the day and will not be rehomed to full time workers. His foster family have not had to leave him as yet so he is unassessed in the house on his own. Max is house trained and has lovely house manners. He is very intelligent and obedient and already knows the basics. I am sure he would relish further training to keep him mentally stimulated. Work will have to be done to help him overcome a dislike of wheels as he is currently scared of wheelchairs, prams etc and work on this will need to continue.
Max is a very affectionate and soppy dog at home. He can take a while to warm up to some male visitors to the house and can be a little suspicious of them and bark. Once he realises all is well he will settle down. He has been around visiting children in his foster home and could be respect him and are used to large breed dogs.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK.
