A very very sad day

I haven't been on Dogsey for a while as I was spending so much time on it. Just thought I must tell you though that we lost our gorgeous little Shannon on 26th May. She passed on suddenly, unexpectedly. We were returning from a walk - she started to pull a bit as we were moving into "cat" country and I looked down and she was on her side. She sort of shook a little, almost a tremble, stretched a bit, then squeaked and was gone. I rushed her home but she showed no sign of life. Spoke to Vet on phone who was sure she had gone. Dog friend came round and confirmed it. She would have been 3 on 7th June! Libby, our Retriever is looking for her. She was a real handful as you may know from when I posted thread about her and hedgehogs, but we absolutely adored her and feel so robbed. I did ask for a post mortem but it showed nothing. Some tests are still due back. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I have spoken twice to the Blue Cross support line and they have been wonderful.

Tiny Shan is the little dog on my thumbnail picture.

Hi Swisbey so sorry to hear about Shannon .
it must have been a horrible experience for you and a nasty shock.

I heard of something similar happening to a neighbor who couldn't lift her poor dog (a Doberman ) and sat on the roadside cradling it and crying until a passing farmer came to her aid. It seems her dog had a heart attack.
Hugs xx

So sorry for your loss. I hope you find out the cause so at least you know what happened. She was too young to go. So sad.
