The things kids say....

Was out walking with my son today and we walked past a house with a woman and a rottie sitting in their front garden.

Myles (5) exclaims "Oh look Mammy, it's a Bear!"

I laughed and said, "Oh yes, so it is!" then the woman came over and said (with a sarcastic tone in her voice (I assume aimed at me agreeing that it was a 'Bear'), "No sweetheart he's not a Bear, he's just a dog.

I can understand really what she thought but my son was not to be sniffed at on his uber dog knowledge and he piped up, "I know that it's a dog, it's a rottweiler, we have one that we are looking after, he's called Bear!"

Luckily the woman saw the funny side and apologised saying she is just so protective over him lately, I said I understand totally and i'd have probably done the same if I thought a child was calling bear a bear and his mum agreeing, lol!

Least it made up both smile in the end!

How funny and I would have loved to have seen her face when your son gave his explanation

Thank Vicki, he's a little star, especially when it comes to dogs. Totally my fault, he knows more breeds than most adults round here.

She was clearly embarrassed for jumping to the wrong conclusion but we all had laugh about it!
