very sore pad

My dog has just a second op on her knee joint but where her leg was bandaged down to the foot she has developed sores on her pad and they look very painful. I bathe them in salty water twice a day and apply cream from the vet but she has a habit of licking it and its making it worse. I really do not want to have to resort to puting a buster collar on her at night but I also cannot put a sock on her as the air needs to get to the foot. Any one have any ideas.
