Another idiot young male with a staffy, so sad.

Leaving the park with Pepper just now a very pretty young staffy came over to say hello completely ignoring the half-wit shouting at her like a banshee. I stood and waited so he could come over to get her, I asked how old she was and he said just 4 month and then I said in a jolly way I think you need to bring some treats next time. Completely ignoring me he then proceeded to hit her on her face with her lead and shout 'listen to me when I call you', then hit her rump while going 'sit, sit, SIT'. At this point I walked away (he was a lot bigger than me so I couldn't afford to start something). As I walked away I heard him shouting for her again, he obviously had no control whatsoever and she had learned going back to him was a bad idea.

Such a sad situation, what can you do?

J

Unfortunately, some people think that dogs are born with knowledge of the English language, or else access to a translation book When will folk realise that if you scare your dog and then let it off the lead, it will associate you with punishment and won't WANT to return

Edited to add - that's not to say that it's okay to scare your dog and keep it ON the lead!

If thats the response the puppy gets when shes called no wonder she didnt come back to him!
And I think with an owner like that, the poor dog could be a time bomb waiting to happen!
Fear aggression is one of the worst things a dog can have ,and if that is what hes doin to this little pup at such a young age then the out come doesnt look good!
Just hope the dog when older doesnt feel threaten by some one and bite them!

See as a Stafford owner myself when he hit the pup I would have picked the pup up and walked off.............then called the bloke.
The God help him if he'd have tried to take her back...........makes my blood boil uncalled for cruelty to people and animals.

See why I am not allowed out alone can't you.......crazy woman on loose.
