Foster home required

Hi,

I don't know if I've put this in the right place but I have an urgent request for help to find someone who would foster a CKCS in the Somerset area.

My next door neighbours have just lost their house and been put into temporary rented accomodation. All was well until yesterday when she was told that they would not be able to take their dog.

Jake is a 3? year old tri coloured CKCS and is best friends with her young son. She is devastated that she cannot take him and would love to find someone who could foster him (we don't know for how long exactly) until she finds a place to settle in where he could be with his family.

He's a lovely lad and has been well looked after. I've just had her on the doorstep in floods of tears I have no way of taking him in as I have 5 large dogs and a husband who would hit the roof if I added another one, even temporarily.

Anyone got any bright ideas?

I have contacted CKCS rescue and all the Cavalier people I know but to no avail. If it means she HAS to rehome him then so be it but she is hoping to have him back ASAP and would love him to be in a foster home for a while.

This is an URGENT request as they have to be out of their house by Monday!

Thanks Colin - have rung the SW Cavalier rescue numbers (all the other districts say ring the SW ones first) and left messages as no one in at either.

Oh Helene, that was the first thing I said to them.

Usual story - breeder's in Wales, neighbour told me they don't have her contact number but (and I quote) "she was a really good breeder because she has loads of different puppies and dogs there when they picked him up" *winces*

What an awful position to find themselves in! I know that you've had a very kind offer to foster him from a cavalier owner on here, I really do hope that they take this route, rather than try to re-home him in the run up to Christmas!

If they decide that they cant have him back after 6-12 months, at least they will have had the option to have thought long and hard! I just feel that now is not the time to make definate decissions, when they dont have the time to think things through, and hey who knows what will happen within the next year!
