Fleas on 2 week old pups!

A friend of mine has a litter of 2 weeks 3 days old, yesterday she had the new owners come to visit and she thinks they brought fleas in with them She found an adult flea on one of the pups, mum had been frontlined etc. just before mating.

Any suggestions on what she can use on the pups to get rid the horrible critters?

Thanks!

Not so sure on that Inca, she said she has Frontline but it says not before 10 weeks of age, I'll get her to check again.

Give the vet a ring to check, won't cost a penny for phone advice and they will tell you the best thing to use.
They will need to be cleared up as can cause anemia in such little babies quite quickly.

One alternative she may like to try; you can use vinegar for fleas on puppies too young for regular flea products. Straight white vinegar applied with a cotton ball, keep from nose and eyes. I warm it a little bit first, the puppies don't seem to mind the smell and their coats are so soft.

Hope this helps.

It's the SPRAY that you can use earlier- NOT the spot on one. Just make sure that when she sprays the puppies she allows their coats to dry before allowing the bitch back in. The dam could ingest the frontline (if still wet on the coats) when she grooms her pups and if ingested it can cause a very bad stomach upset indeed.

The spray's OK for puppies, must say I think just over 2 weeks is a tad young for visitors. I dont let people see mine until they are 4 weeks.

Poor things, hope they are de-flead soon. I'd be having a word with the prospective owners and mentioning they should have their dog done!
