Dissappearance of Paddy

I was walking Mutley and Neb around the old Lead Mines near where I live and I met a oldish man who told me he had lost his terrier. He had another dog with him and was a bit upset. Apparently the terrier, Paddy, had chased a rabbit into an area where there are three big containers, like you get on cargo ships. Paddy had been running around these barking and the man had walked on with his other dog assuming Paddy would catch up as he usually does. When he had got a little way the barking stopped so he waited for Paddy but Paddy never came. When he returned to the containers Paddy was nowhere to be seen. Paddy is 12 and has a bad leg so limps a bit when he runs. The area is fairly well fenced and isn't vast with only a few paths in the area. I told him I would keep my eyes open for him and went off in another direction. Later on I met the man again around the containers and had a good look. There are various places where he could have got underneath but we thought if he was stuck he would be barking or crying. We continued searching and asked several other dog walkers but no-one had seen Paddy. Eventually we both had to leave and I took the mans address in case I heard anything but it is a mystery. All I can think is ( and i dearly hope that I'm wrong ) that Paddy has had an accident and is unconcious, or worse, or maybe the excitement of the chase gave him a heart attack under the container.
I will be saying a prayer for Paddy tonight.

oh no!

I'll be adding him to my prayer list tonight, I really hope he's ok, although like you say it's concerning that he's not barking...

Let's hope if he is unconscious, he wakes up soon and someone hears him...

Por Paddy, and poor old man. I don't think I could've left, I'd be distraught.

But terriers are tenacious little wotsits and you never know he may be found? I dearly hope so.

Good news about Paddy. I was in the area where the guy said he lived so I called in to learn that Paddy had found his own way home, which was about a mile away, later that evening. It really made my day to see him lying there on the rug.
