Help now please!!!!!

My B-I-Law's dog is here.... she is pregnant as is due NOW!!! Help...she is panting heavily and shaking and I'm not sure if she is in labour...I've never done this before and I'm REALLY scared!!! Do you think she is in labour and what do I need to look out for?????

She can pant for hours, usually once the shivering starts labour is well established, once the straining starts you must keep a close watch on her! Try not to stress her out - easier said than done I know, is this her first litter? What breed is she?

As CC says keep calm or the bich will pick up you are anxious and get stressed..has she stopped eating they often do ? also her temp should drop about 12 hours before she is due to whelp to around 97/98 . There may be a mucus discharge..if you gently place your hand on her tummy while stroaking and talking quietly to her you can feel when the first contractions begin..the bitch will tense slightly then you can feel a little shudder..as CC says could be hours before much happens yet
