Its a tower built in the harbour - which has taken 10 years and millions and millions of pounds to build. Was meant to be ready for the millenium. Cost a fortune. The outside lift keeps on breaking down before it was handed over to the council and the view is for miles. There is a look-out glass platform at the top of the oval shape (just below the bottom of the spikey bit). They have to make about £500,000 a year to break even!!!!!!

I tell you now - you won't catch me or anyone else I know going on it. Costs £4.95 for adults to go on (£3.80 if you can prove you live in Portsmouth or Gosport). I saw the pics last week when the outside lift broke down and people had to climb out to the emergency hatch - right near the top.

IMO the biggest waste of money ever - think of all the hospitals and schools that could have benefit from that money.

Thanks Fred.

I come from Fareham originally. just up the road from Portmouth..Why did they decide to build such an ugly structure as that, Pompey harbour is lovely with all the old ships etc, that is just an eye sore!!!!
