Litter

Or trash.
In some of the places where I walk the dog there is lots of it. Beer cans, fast food wrappers, glass bottles etc. Apart from being unsightly, some of the glass is broken and that poses a danger for children and pets.

I try to keep my dog clear of it bt that's not always easy even when he is on his lead. There's sometimes broken bottles on the paths.

Here are a couple of pics. The first is in a little used track through some woodlands.

This next one is beer cans chucked into a hedge that goes round a primary school.

That looks awful. Isn't there anyone who could do something about it?

I've reported it, including the images, to the local council. I'm not holding my breath......

We have a local street cleaner and he will clear paths and streets - anything the local council has jurisdiction over.

Parts of the country park are like that and they rely on volunteers to clear it.

Every couple of weeks we take a large carrier bag on our walk. We fill it with crushed cans and beer bottles, and leave it hanging on the lead hook of the nearest poo bin. It always gets taken when they empty the red bin. If no one else will do it .....

Broken glass is the nightmare here at times. It's a tourist town so during the summer the paths are cleaned regularly, but not so in winter.

We know the hotspots so are careful when we take Rosie out. It's annoying and dangerous

Our local street cleaner is a gem. He does what he can. But sometimes I think he is fighting a losing battle. For the most part it isn't so bad here but there are local "hot spots".
The path between the local convenience store being one of them.
