Stena Line Dog Kennel

Hi,

We will be travelling from Hook of Holland to Harwich in June with our 3 very big Borzoi dogs and leaving them in the kennels. This is the night boat so will be over 10 hours. Has anyone done this and if so what are the conditions like and can you visit them and walk them as 10 hours is a very long time to leave them??

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

As I said in the post linked to

Stenaline info:
http://www.stenaline.co.uk/ferry/rou...a-pet/brochure

In case you haven't seen it - here is a link to the Stena Line Pet Travel VIDEO

http://www.stenaline.co.uk/ferry/rou...t-travel-video

You can see the kennels in that and hear from someone who has done it.
Heard very good reports of it. Good luck.

Hi,

Thanks for your replys. I have checked the stena line links out but they don't really tell me much about the kennels. I just wondered if anyone had travelled with dogs in the kennels recently and if so how was it???

After reading the various info on it and that link that Anniebee put up of the person who had first had experience, I wouldn't hesitate ..... it looks great. The fact that you can 'walk' them and visit them as often as you like seems ideal and will be far less stressful for all of you.

We've not used the kennels but kept Loki in the car when we've gone over to Ireland. Being in the car is a home-from-home for him, so we felt that he would be more settled in his own familiar place. He is always fine but the trip over isn't as long as yours either. Sorry that doesn't really answer your question.

Thanks again for the replies!! I have contacted Stena Line but seem to get different answers, some saying you cannot take them for a walk and others which say you can. I'm just worrying too much as they have never been left like this before....I'm sure they will be fine!!

I found out the info in the earlier thread by just Googling it. That was a while back - you might find more testimonials now.
