Hello new to site

Hello everyone. My good Friend Moyra has kindly guided me to this site, as we are considering buying a dog for the first time.

We only have a small house, with a smallist back garden. So we are looking for a small dog. I will be having to go out to work part time soon, but there will still be someone here (my mom) most of the time, so someone here too help look after the dog

Were were thinking of a yorkshire Terrier, but would glady appreciate any advice from anyone who may be able to give us pointers.

Hello and welcome Patsy, so sorry to have missed you last night. Could only have been by minutes as I was so tired and felt quite poorly too after the upset with Amber all day. She is still not good this morning off her food. At least she'll lose some weight. As Eileen (Lacey 10) said earlier Shi Tzu are lovely small dogs. Well I will drop you an email and see how things are with you. Hope you learn to love this site as I do. Everyone is so friendly. Take care and here's my welcome picture from me and Amber:

My experience has only been with a Shih Tzu and I couldn't recommend them enough.I'm sure the same could be said for loads of other breeds( think I covered myself well there)
As your mum will be looking after the dog too,I guess you won't be needing an overly energetic dog.
Just wondering if you were planning on getting a puppy?

Eileen, I just asked her that in an email whether she was going to a breeder or to a rescue centre. If she went to a rescue centre she would see plenty of different breeds to choose from. However, some rescue dogs have by then picked up some bad habits so it's a case of needing a lot of thought. ~Thanks for making Patsy welcome everyone.
