Now 81

Can someone please explain to me in words of one syllable WHY all the NOW albums have what appear to me, RANDOM numbers assigned to them?

Why, for example, were they not sequentially numbered?

I thought they went by year? Least that's what I always thought

Thought they were numbered as they were released so the first one was now then now 2 etc....

They do release a few every year though!

I obviously need to start taking the pills more often........... I had seen several which I thought did not appear to be sequential.

I hope they have more than one a year - I've got the first "Now that's what I call music" upstairs on vinyl and I'm nowhere near my 80th birthday

I suppose if you 'miss' the release of 1 or 2, they would look out of sequence
