Maybe a little bit overdone

After a sold my 300mm f2.8 I didn't have a super telelens for wildlife. Some people here ask me to Photograph a nature reserve during a year for a book.
Plants, butterflies, amphibians, birds and mammals like the badger, fox and mustelids. So I had to buy a lens. It is an old Nikon 400 2.8 with the Nikon TC 16A wich gives this AIS lens autofocus on my D2X. (and about 960 mm compare to a FF camera)
This monster weights over 5 kilos. Handhold shooting is impossible.

After this shoot my daughter was exhausted

It looks very impressing but it isn't.

Most bridge cameras are having more mm. This fuji HS 20 has 720 mm (equivalent to a ff camera)

My Nikon is 600mm. (equivalent to a ff camera)
The Fuji weights 730 grams. My nikon with camera, flashlght and beamer 7.3 kilos.

Who is the fool
