Sid - 10 year old Whippet

Sid is an approximately 10 year old whippet cross and is currently on foster in Manchester.

Dog status: Good, enjoys the company of other dogs. Can be overly interested and excited by small dogs so care needs to be taken
Cat status: Will chase
Child status: Good but likes the quiet life
Housetraining: Excellent
Home alone: Sid loves company and although he is OK to be left he is still not overly settled and will need a new owner who is at home a lot
Basic training: Knows sit and is light on the lead



Sid is a handsome 10 year old whippet cross breed. He is a wonderful dog, full of character and love and adores people and other dogs. His foster carer has described him as bomb proof in many respects and he is a laid back, loving sort of a dog.

Maybe Sid was a cat in a former life as he loves to sit on people's knees, curl up under the duvet with you and rearrange the cushions on the sofa for the comfiest spot!

He is looking for a new home where there are other resident dogs. he is currently in foster with lots of different dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages and loves their company. He can be overly excited around small dogs and this would need to be managed and supervised out on walks. He will chase cats and chickens etc.

Whilst he is good to be handled and good with gentle children he is a fan of the quiet life and would prefer a home where there were no young children.

If you are looking for a dog to do flyball, agility, obedience training.......look away now! Sid is not the boy for intensive training and is looking for someone who will accept him as he is....which is absolutely lovely!
He is also not the boy for you if you are a fan of fell running or day long walks. He is happiest with a couple of decent walks per day. He does like a good off lead run but his recall will need a little more work as sometimes he can feign deafness and take his time coming back.

Poor Sid recently had major dental surgery and had a lot of his teeth removed.

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK.
