OMG!!!! I've seen the light!!!!

Hey guys

Well the title says it all....

Have to start with "before the light"

I chat to a lot of ya here and on msn... And I hear all the things your dogs can do, and what you all expect your dogs to be able to do.

Am and Ally for one (or is that 2) AM wants to use Ally and train hard (no not too hard) with a goal in mind.

Kate wants Tam to win prizes in shows and competitions.

I listen to what they want, and think: Hey maybe I want Luna and I to do that too Maybe is the keyword here, cos I get started, but dont have the tools or the knowledge or honestly the right attitude for it. And if Luna wont do it... I give up.....

I have a problem with my self confidence (its practically non-existant) and wants to please everybody without thinking of myself.

Luna wont really retrieve, and its been bothering me.. But apparently not enough to do something about it

So NOW I've seen the light (with a bit of kicks in the butt by AM)

SO Luna wont retrieve... so what? She will come back if she wants me to throw the ball/stick/dummy (at the beach)

SO we aint good enough to win at competition... so what? Luna comes, when I call. She will sit, stay and "down" if I tell her to.

And you know wot... She now loves to swim. She loves tracking and she loves walking long walks - sniffing, playing with other dogs or just trot along. And carry her own treats home from the shops. So THAT'S what we are gonna do. HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!

Whatever anyone decides to do with their dogs, they should first of all have fun!
You enjoy that stunning girl of yours for what she is, not what she cant do!

First of all J. Applogies if I in any way have been hard on you and your training. Not my intention you know.
My ambitions arent yours and shouldnt be at all.

Secondly: way to go :smt023 You are so right about never be meassuaring what other dogs can do comparing to your own.
Not two dogs are alike and theres so many ways to have our dogs and provide them with a good life.

Luna has a very good owner in you and just because you wont be working her as I work Ally doesnt mean what you´re doing isnt right.

I just wanted to say to you to keep up what you´re doing and trust yourself more. Its a good thing to be able to take advice from someone else, but what works for one dog may not work on the next.
Chin up and keep going. You´re doing great
