Crufts info

Now Kevin and I are sitting here pondering whether or not to go to Crufts. But I'm not too sure about what goes on. I've been to shows before but Crufts looks totally different on the TV. So here's my questions.

Is there a Discover Dogs type of thing that you can get to met all the breeds and do you have to get another ticket for this if there is?

Can you still pay at the door and is it more expensive than if you book in advance?

Can you just go and view lots of different breeds getting judged - like at other shows eg, wander in and out of the halls.

I know some of these questions sound silly, but it all looks so "structured" when you see it on TV.

We are thinking of driving down, early in the morning about 2.00am and then back up at night It's about 5 1/5 hours each way.

There is a discover dogs with 95% of the breeds there every day.

You can pay at the door and its £13 same as tickets booked in advance.

There are 4 days with groups being shown on different days.
What breed are you mostly interested in?
I would guess Irish Terrier?
You would want Terrier day (Thursday)
Crufts 2005 - 10th-13th March
10th - Terrier & Hound
11th - Toy & Utility
12th - Gundog
13th - Working & Pastoral

It is a truly wonderful day out but very very tiring might be worth looking for a cheap B&B for coming home.

Thanks Carolyn :smt023 . Oh, I hope I can go, just sounds too good to miss. Might consider a B&B - will have to see what hubby thinks cause he'll be driving (I'll be sleeping ).

Crufts is a VERY different experience from any other show.
It is however one payment and you can go anywhere within the sohw except for on Sunday for BIS ring.My kids love going up and siiting in the main arena watching the obedience etc...its free.
The only thing I'd say is...take comfy shoes, lots of monet and your own food if possible since the food is expensive and queues long

I am SOOOOOO excited, can't wait another month . I will make sure that I take tons of money and buy Olive lots of things 'cause I am going to feel so guilt leaving her at her grans for a whole day. Although my mum will spoil her rotten. I'll be going on the Thursday. So glad the hounds are on that day too - I had look at buying a whippet before I got Olive. :smt026 , and have a soft spot for hounds.

Comfy shoes are definitely a priority! The only other thing to consider is if you go with someone make sure you get on with them very well, cos by the end of the day you may want to smash their face in!!!
Just speaking from personal experience!
