More money than sense? (extravagent birthday gifts for children)

Does anyone else find it a bit uncomfortable that someone would buy a 6 year old child a pair of £25000 ear rings for his birthday? Does a child this age appreciate this? Could this much money be better spent elsewhere?
I know parents love their kids and like to spoil them but surely this is going over board

call me old fashioned but buyin any ear rings for a 6 year old lad is a bit silly.

Oh they will be in for some shocks as the child grows up wont they? And the sad thing is they would have brought it all on themselves

should of known ,i personally dont think its right piercing kids ears ,would they let there six year old have there belly button pierced, eyebrow ,nose or mouth .just my opinion but think like tattos body mods should be left till kids are old enough .

If they got too much money to spend why not spend it on us!!

Mind u saying that, I've heard that they're actually quite nice people in 'real life' but thas going back about 5 years so dunno what they r like now!
