Advice on gaining kc recognition

hello i wonder if anyone here has had anything to do with gaining kc recognition for a newly established breed?we are a small english breed club and are wanting to gain kc recogition but need help and advice in how to go about it.we have applied once before 5 years ago but were turned down not on anything to do with the dogs but because of personal differences in the breed between the two main clubs.these cant be resolved imho so wed like to try to apply again but the last time the kc wanted to get a joint application but this isnt going to happen as one club want kc recognition and the other dont!can anyone offer us any help or advice?

If the clubs cant work together for the breed now, having KC recognition wont change that - Seems the KC wants both clubs to agree, if thats not happening there is nothing you can really do?

the thing is one club doesnt seem to be bothered about getting kc recognition in fact they dont seem to want it at all.but the other club does and we need help to try to get the kc to see it from our point of view.if the breed gains kc recognition then mor epeople will wan tto get the dogs and there will be an expansion of the gene pool with more people breeding them.at the moment theres not many breeding and if we dont gain recognition we worry that the breed will stagnate

What breed is it?
Why does the other club not want recognition? There must be a reason.

I would guess the breed is JRT and the reason the other club does not want KC recognition because they believe it would be detrimental to the breed. Just a guess.

If it is indeed Jack Russells we are talking about (please do correct if wrong!) then I understand (one of) the reason they can't be called Jack Russell Terriers by the KC is that a breeder in the USA took out a copyright on the name.

I belive that may be why the Parson Russell is so called. The shorter-legged JRT then, if ever recognised by the KC would have to have an entirely different name and separate breed, OR be called a Parson Russell (Small) - rather like the Basset Griffon Vendeen can be Grand or Petit.

no its not JR's.but they are a recognised breed of working dog and the reason that the other breed club dont want kc recognition is because they think that it will ruin the breed lol!thanks for the replies,im really looking for help from anyone who has been involved in getting a new breed recognised,not an imported breed by the way but a native breed.
