question about hip scores

has any one had their dog scored lately?
hol is booked in for her elbows and hips score in november (20)
just wondered how long it takes for the results now.
it was about 6/8 weeks when tob was done but its a few yrs ago.
i am hoping we will get them back for xmas before the post stops etc........hate waiting on results.

hi i would doubt if you will have the results back by christmas,i know the commitee only meet up once a month to grade x-rays but they may not do any near christmas we normally tell clients to expect a wait of 6-8weeks,maybe you could ask your vets to ring and ask for the dates the commitee will meet in november and december then if the 20th is too late then you could bring the date forward or postpone it til later!

Mine took about 2 or 3 times longer than normal.
I remember being online on here and asking how long it took for other peoples to come through!

i can't bring it forward as hols in season and i was told it is better to get them scored mid cycle.
when we got tob done the vets phoned us up with the results then sent on the paperwork so i guess it is more than likely gonna be the new year.
it doesn't really matter it was just that if her hips are high if possible i would have like to get her done before her next season but if not its just 1 more.
i don't for 1 min expect them to be bad the way she bounces around etc but untill we get the results to confirm they are ok they will stay part.
they both need thier eyes doing before we even think about pups.

ok thanks
i was told its cause she wont have the hormones building up for her next season or coming back down to a normal level from the last.
if you like the half way mark of when her homones are changing.
either way theres no rush could you ask also when would be the best time to get her spayed if we go down that line please.
i wouldn't want to get her done at the wrong time if there is 1.

hi yes the best time to spey her is mid season usually 8-12 weeks after her last season this is when her hormones are at their lowest and the amount of blood flowing to the uterus is at its lowest

that could be a problem then for us as hols cycle is between 4 and 4 1/2 months approx 18/19 weeks.
so it would have to be done at 8 to be safe.......but once i have the results etc i can pre book it for the right time.
thanks for the info
mo even at 5 wks it will be new yr
