Police can grant dogs ‘bail’ under changes to DDA

DOGS will be allowed ‘bail’ under changes being made to section one of the Dangerous Dogs Act (DDA).
Previously, dogs suspected of being of banned breeds had to be seized and held by police until the matter went to court.

But under a new clause which seems to have crept in under the radar with no public consultation or Parliamentary debate, police will now have discretion to allow a dog to return home subject to conditions, such as it being kept muzzled and on a lead, neutered, microchipped and insured.

Absurd. As if the owners of dangerous dogs are so keen on following ordinances. Just a good way for a dog that has bitten to bite again.

The article has nothing to do with dogs that have bitten or are dangerous, it's about ANY dog that falls under the banned breeds list, as it is now any dog can be taken away and possibly destroyed if the are suspect "type" .

Not its suggesting the police can have more leniency on deciding the fate of said dog.
