Runaway Dog Visits Sick Owner In Hospital

A woman battling cancer in hospital was overjoyed to receive an unexpected visit - from her runaway dog.

Sissy dashed from home and wandered 20 blocks into the lobby of the Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The miniature Schnauzer belongs to Nancy Franck, 64, who has been at the facility for about two weeks following surgery.

As a Miniature Schnauzer owner myself all I can say is that nothing would surprise me about them. They're such adorable, loving dogs, devoted to their owners and very intelligent. I love my "little black devil" to bits!

A small dog who was not properly restrained escaped from home, ran 20 blocks through traffic and other danger, and managed to arrive at the hospital unharmed to see her owner. Good for her, I guess... but I see the irresponsibility as well as the initiative the dog made.

What a lovely story. I wonder how she knew where to find her Mum?
Dangerous, yes it was, but I bet a show of loyalty like that has hastened Nancy's recovery, and her desire to return home as soon as possible.

Carole if you watch the video it shows the little dog is following the scent along the ground, it just demonstrates the power of a dogs scenting ability .

Oh thanks Meg, I hadn't thought to click the link!
It is an amazing story, even a TD track is only 3 hours old, and if they had never walked that journey ...............
Perhaps a bit of ESP at work?
